ZOM Development will Celebrate Groundbreaking at
Tampa's Newest "SoHo District" Community
Tampa,
FL December 6, 1999
ZOM's distinctive "SoHo
District" apartment community, The Madison at SoHo, will celebrate the
commencement of construction with a groundbreaking ceremony on Friday,
December 10, 1999, at 11:30 AM.
The
Madison at SoHo is a 368-unit upscale apartment community with a unique
urban design. This trendy neighborhood is strategically located between
the Westshore and downtown Tampa business areas, adjacent to the upscale
Hyde Park Historic District. Steve Patterson, ZOM's President and CEO,
believes that the Madison product, with its capacity to be developed at
high densities within existing city block patterns, represents a significant
future trend in multifamily housing design.
Designed
by Cooper Carry Architects, an internationally recognized firm specializing
in urban building design, this innovative project will feature a central
courtyard with a swimming pool and garden, and the clubhouse will include
a fitness center, library/business center and entertainment facilities.
The project's Development Manager, Greg West, adds that, "A superior level
of quality and features will be offered, and varying architectural elevations,
including Italian Renaissance and Post Modern, will be incorporated into
the project. Distinguishing features include nine-foot ceilings, split-level
entries, Roman tubs, walk-in closets and security alarms. Residents will
be able to park their cars within a gated, three-level parking garage
and walk directly into the residential buildings at the same level on
which they are parked. Monthly rental rates begin at around $1,000 for
a one-bedroom apartment, $1,300 for a two-bedroom, and $1,600 for a three-bedroom.
Leasing is expected to begin in the winter of 2000."
ZOM
has previously won 22 Aurora awards for projects it has developed, including
a Golden Aurora for "Best Development Project" in 1997 and the prestigious
Pillars Award for "Multifamily Development Firm of the Year" in 1999.
